Hey all,
I've been reading great postings for ventilation and coop design and am about to cut my ventilation holes (then cover with hardware cloth). The holes would be where the green squares on the picture would be (roughly 1ft x 1ft ). I have a large green square to the right where a trap door and the run will be.
I thought I would just post the pic of my rough plans and see if I'm right about where to cut and how much.
Here are some details:
1. I only have 6 chickens and at the most will only ever have 9 chickens.
2. it's a large shed with a roof that slopes up towards the door
3. I live at a higher elevation in Vermont and some winters we get -12degrees F or worse. (not counting wind chill)
4. the windows will be covered with glass during the winter as they are at roost height.
Any suggestions?
