Help with breed and gender

I got my first 2 chickens off of a friends farm in AL. I am trying to determine breed and wanting to make sure they are hens. They are both around 12 weeks or maybe a little older. I live in a neighborhood and if one was a rooster it wouldn't be good. Thanks!

My guess is a barnyard mix. They both have different color legs and the difference in comb development. They kind of look like an Amber link but with the difference in legs, I think not.

I do think they both look like girls.
