I have my first Jersey Giant chick (black), never raised this breed before, and she is SO behind the other breeds in feathering it is crazy! She is going on 5 weeks and hardly even has the feathering of a typical 2 week old chick. Her body size is good but she is practically bald ( of course she has down) with feathers just starting in places !! Tried to read everything I can find and there's no mention of this apart from that they grow more slowly and take longer to mature, as one would expect. Has anyone raised this breed from chicks and can assure me they are just WAY slower? Appreciate the experience!
