Broody Hen?

I've been letting my chickens free range for awhile now and my hen has decided the garden was a great place to start a clutch! The only thing is that she isnt on the nest all day and she doesn't stay on it at night when we let them out in the morning. she is usually on the nest until the late afternoon/ early evening. Is there any reason as to why she's not constantly on them? This is her first clutch and she is around two years. Sorry if not in the forum
 
I've had 1 half hearted broody since April. Sitting all night and morning but then getting off mid afternoon until evening. Finally, after several weeks, she's settled down to proper brooding and sitting all day. I just gave her some eggs today. I did try to give her eggs before a month ago as I thought she was sitting but she wasn't sitting enough and she broke some of the eggs. I'm hoping she does better now shes sitting properly.

I gave her a clutch of fake eggs a week ago to try and get her to sit properly.
