Chick who seperates?

I have 6 chicks.ever since they had begun free ranging little "Clicks" were formed,but this was 4 week old 5 week olds.

Here we are at 8 and a half week old and this chick has been very distant with other five,occasionally he will stay with them now that they stick as one whole flock (Sometimes.)He roosts alone,and maybe its just he isn't committed to flocking (He spends more time around me then them I think.)I'm almost positive he is little cockerel (I named em Brutis.)maybe he is committed to watching over them (although i'm not sure he does.But would you have any idea WHY he is standing alone all the time?
 
Some roosters will watch from a distance, instead of lead they would rather follow so they can keep an eye out for the hens better. I would not be worried though as he seems dry docile.
 
For youngster he seems like he could care less about wanting to watch over the (he isn't even the dominant chick,one of the pullets happily took that place.)
 
The rooster role doesn't kick in until a good while after the hormones manifest, so it's not necessarily rooster behavior wanting to be alone.

Just as in the human species, there are also animals who have a solitary temperament. The chick is still very much a flock animal, and it would suffer a great deal if it lost its flock, but some are content to just hang out on the sidelines.

It may be this chick has a lot of self confidence or it may be it's timid, but it could easily change as the chick develops. Even after adulthood is well established, chickens can change.

All that said, hanging out alone, accompanied by tail held down, loss of appetite, and overall lethargic behavior also indicates a sick chicken.
 
He is most defiantly not sick,he runs around,finds food (He even has begun calling the little gals over to feed.)But,he does eat (fattest one in the bunch.)
