Newborn Chick with mass hanging from his rear end. What is it?!?!

This chick was just born after 36 hours from pip to hatch and he has this mass of stuff hanging off his rear end. What is it? I am worried about him!
 
Looks like general hatch gunk that should dry up and fall off of its own accord. As your chick had a prolonged this can occur. Please don't pull it as this could cause it's abdomen to come out of its umbilical area.

How's the chick doing now? Drying off and fluffing up well?
 
It's doing well. He is fluffing up slowly but surely. I think the wet bulb temperature in my incubator is out of whack so it's probably more humid than it should be. I just don't want to open it and take the time change it out and risk none of the other chicks hatching.
