"Safari" was hatched May 19, 2015. He's been hanging out with his hatch brothers but he really wants a roost full of ladies to rule. He was hatched from NorCal Chickens Rare Breed Poultry eggs - a gorgeous blue egg. Mottled Ameraucana's are a project color at this stage, not recognize as an official color. So if you're looking to add a little sumthin' sumthin' to your color breeding program or just looking for a handsome rooster to provide a life long home for, please consider Mr. Safari.

Will not ship but willing to drive half way for WA and certain Oregon locations.

Where in WA do you live? I'm in Walla Walla. How are the mottled crossed? I am also looking for a two wheaten/blue wheaten hens. Text 509-520-1697

Hi sorry for the delayed response. We're in the Snohomish area...across the mountains. I'm sorry to say I don't know how the Mottled were developed -- we weren't looking to breed, just to hatch something different/unusual. Feel free to contact Eve, the owner of NorCal chickens. I had communicated with her through FB. Search "NorCal Chickens" to get to their page. I can tell you he was raised with an EE and 3 English Orpington cockerels, Safari was the slowest to mature and fill out. But once he did, look out...big stout guy. His personality is rather shy with people but he's since become tolerant of hugs..once you catch him.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Mottled ameraucana can not be produced with slate legs. The ameraucana breeders will have to change the standard of mottled birds to white shanks. If someone is trying to produce mottled birds with slate legs they are wasting their time. the same thing goes for barred ameraucana.
