Guineas going rogue

For the second night my guineas opted not to roost in the coop, but roost on the coop. We have predators, coons, coyotes, owls, occasional hawk but none for quite a few months. Anyone see any reason to make them go in the roost. Will they go in the roost this winter? Thanks Willie
 
I wouldn't let them start it. It's a bad habit to break. Have you tried putting a light in the coop and offering them treats in the coop? The predators will pick them off. Good luck.
 
If you allow them to start roosting outside the coop they will not survive long, Owls love Guinea's and will kill them just for sport. I was late coming home one night when I had started letting a new batch out of their coop and they had roosted in the trees above the coop, well I found an Owl sitting on one dead one with three more close by.
If you want to keep them put them up at night. If they get into the trees and wont come down and sticks will not convince them then I found a child's BB gun works very well. Be careful not to get to close and avoid hitting them in the head. By six weeks they have plenty of feathers that work as armor but they still do not like getting popped so they will get down.
