Well, tonight I recently required 4 more "female" which the owner said are about 2 years old that he said he raised as chicks. 1 Buff Orphington and 3 Jersey Giants
Like Usual I've read up in the past and started to keep every new additions in a cage for about 1-2 weeks before I deem them non-infectious-able while the other can free range anywhere around it considering they get like a good quarter acre to roam anywhere they want (Grass and Eucalyptus Mulch).
He came by just a few hours ago and dropped them off and mentioned that one of them had a smell which I disregarded at the time(He drove 20 minutes to drop them off for free)
Any clue what I should do for the smell.
Already when I get time this weekend ima try a little water bath on the smelly and DE on them all.
Any other clue what could be causing the smell.

Is it coming from the mouth or just from the bird in general? If its coming from the mouth, check the mouth and throat for sores, otherwise just give the stinky thing a bath

Im guessing the bird itself, it just smells horrible, 2 years of chickens and i haven't yet got this. I have gotten a smelly rooster that i got for free but washed it and it went away with plain water... I gave it away ;D

Sometimes the little punks get into stuff that they just shouldn't and it just seems to stick with them until their next bath

I'd recommend checking her throat just to make sure she doesn't have sour crop or anything stuck and rotting down there but otherwise, I would think just a bath would solve it. Maybe with a little baking soda or gentle shampoo. Also I'd recommend giving them something to dust bathe in, some loose sand and/or dirt mixed with maybe some of the DE. And/or wood ash, wood ash is supposed to be really good for keeping parasites away and staying clean but I haven't tried it yet. Certain hardwoods are better but any wood is fine really. I would think if she can dust bathe she might be able to better keep herself clean. Maybe they didn't dust bathe much there. Hopefully the smell goes away!

Another thing to look out for is canker sores in the mouth and throat. that often produces a rank smell.
