I've got a few khakis with foamy eye. Been googling this sounds like upper respiratory problem? Is this right? If so how can I treat it? I have gotten vetrx and have started using
That. Is there any other ways to fix this? Contagious? Do I keep them segrigated? Any tips would be great thanks in advance

I have 6 fawn and white runner ducks and 3 weeks ago one of them had a bloody foamy eye in a panic I rushed her to the vet and they told me that she had a scratch on her eye almost so they gave me a sterilizer and pain meds. Yes it could be an upper respiratory problem but check your duck's eye to make sure it doesn't look scratched or infected

Thanks a lot for the help everybody. Seems to be clearing up pretty well. Now. Question about upper resp problem for the future. Wouldn't there be troubled breathing, sneezing, wheezing with a resportory problem? At what time frame would the troubled breathing start?

I've now heard both that the respiratory disease isn't contagious and that it is - so it would be safer to separate the sick ducks, if it were a respiratory infection. Sorry for the confusion. Sneezing generally seems to come first.

Most of the foamy eye reports I see on the forum are from injury - drakes grabbing the head and scratching the eye, or debris, or fighting. And it seems that caught early, rinsing the eye regularly with something medicated, or even mild saline solution, making sure there's water available for head washing works.

I think it's Storey's Guide that says that foamy eye can lead to other infections.
