I have eight 3 week old chicks. Two are sexlinks, two were sold as RIR pullets, two others as Silver Laced Wyandotte pullets, and two more easter egger pullets.
Three of the pairs seem to be developing similarly. But my two RIRs have very different personalities and one is getting a brighter and bigger comb. This one is the most assertive of my birds, but also the one who will run to me first, hop on my hand, and be affectionate. 'She' tends to be a bit of a bully towards the others as well.
I know its early but I figured I'd post here to track the two of them as they grow and I figure it out.
I live in the country and actually hope that one of my chicks turns out to be a rooster, so I wouldn't mind it if Peaches here is the one ('she' is kind of my favorite anyways).
This is Peaches, the more aggressive one.
And this is pickles, same age, same chick bin from the feed store, same breed.
