Hi guys and gals! This is my first thread I have made! I’m not very new, but I have posted dozens of things, but never figured out how to make a thread! This is about my two speckled Sussex chicks that are around a month old. They are my first of this breed and am wondering if they just pink up fast, or are males. I got them from TSC in the Premium pullets brooder. I have order chicks from other places too and still ended up with two Roos, ended up keeping the nicer one. Would like to know if these are males or females please! Bonus points if you help me with ideas for the names of these two.

My guess right now is leaning towards cockerels because my SS pullets took forever to get combs. I would give it a few more weeks to be sure.

Yeah, thanks! Although if they are cockerels then the sure do act very much like a hen. I have had two Roos in my experience and they hold their chest up very high almost proud, even as chicks. Anyways their comb is still small just a little pinkish. I’m hoping only one Roo if any! I don’t have enough hens for two roosters to get along well!
