Hi I have a small flock and want a protector for them so I have been considering buying a goose or two to add to it! Is anybody selling geese in the northern new jersey area??
Any geese for sale???

I don't know, but I would suggest going to the nearest farmer's market and asking around there.
I have geese, and they are great animals, but all my poultry are protected by electric poultry netting at night. Geese are killed by predators. My dog injured one of my geese (it survived) but I was there to stop the dog. If you get geese, I recommend a pair or trio, they are flock animals. They will live well with ducks, but can be rough with chickens.

If you want protection for your small flock I rec. an LGD, geese do have a reputation for being mean but when it gets down to it they are mostly bluff and cannot hold their own against a predator that has teeth. They will alert and try their hardest to protect but it really isn't going to work and most likely will end in their death.
