@katiecandi Welcome to BYC.. Since your ducklings are so young I'd wait a week or 2 to introduce treats so they get use to their starter feed. in the mean time you'll need to pick up some chick grit because once you start giving them anything other than their starter they will need to have some grit so they can grind up their treats. They can have thawed peas smashed at first whole once they get larger and can swallow them Dried meal worms and water melon is a big fav here. Chopped tomatoes too. and shredded Romaine Lettuce. There is a treats thread also I'll get it for you.

When you can please post some pics we'd love to see you new babies. What breed are they?
For bonding just spending time with them will help the most talking softly and just being there.

You are their mama now

If it's warm enough outside, take them for a walk on the grass when they're about a week. They will see you as the only familiar thing and stick close.
Since you are now mama, your also teaching them what to eat. So give them small bits of kale, dandelion leaves and other tender greens. Small beetles, grubs, caterpillars and earthworms are a favorite. Just go easy on those high protein snacks 'cause to much protein is bad and can cause developmental problems, like angel wing. All this really requires you go outside and forage for them lol. But they love it, so it's worth it
Good luck

Yeah you can let them swim in lukewarm water, up to their chests, just enough to splash around in. If you have a plastic drawer that works great, plus a piece of cardboard underneath to soak up spilled water( and there will be mess, trust me)

To get them imprinted on you and not each other..take them out and QUACK, quack, quack to them as you tap the floor with a finger...Do this many times during the day...Bath time...play time.. feeding time...Always keep the call the same...I used to just raise Ducklings for a friend...I made a mistake this year and imprinted three on me...My Husband was a busy man setting up my Duck enclosure for them...

Cheers!
