Long time lurker, first post ever...

One of my chickens is molting. She eats very little and the only thing that comes out of her vent is water. She just squirts it out several times a day. It has no color at all, and looks just like plain water. Is my bird sick? She seems okay otherwise.

I've treated her with Corid and Wazine. I also put ACV in her water and a little DE in her food. I also dusted her with DE.

So I'm stumped.

Welcome to BYC! So glad you could join!

Sounds like she is just suffering from the "molting sickness". It just means that she doesn't feel well at all because it is itchy and uncomfortable to molt. Birds may be reluctant to come off of perches, may walk slow and stiff or stand oddly, they may not be interested in food and will avoid roosters. It may take a few weeks of them to get past this, so just offer plenty of protein rich foods like scrambled eggs and baby chick food so they can work on growing back their feathers. Also, make sure the other chickens don't bully them and they aren't too cold.

I hope she feels better soon. Best of luck!
