Hello all,

Here's a pic of my 2 supposedly pure bred Indian Blue peacocks, both about 4 months old (hatched 2nd week of July).
Why does the fellow on the left have black feathers mixed on his lower breast and the other have none?

The one on the left has some Green peafowl blood in him. Very low % Spalding. Tight crest narrow face. Do you have more pictures of the one on the right?

2 Blue peacock .... pattern = barred wings.... so an IB peacock !
One is a little bit older than the other !

Here an example of wing that prove a very low spalding (10%) ! the wings are not like that !

His crest is not normally so narrow, his buddies have been trimming it for him. I have a spalding, 50% or so, the difference in the crest is dramatic. Here's another pick on the fellow on the right(my #2 male).
This is inside the new aviary I built for them.

The shape of Crete is very changeable! We cannot judge that! Crete will be definitive at two years old!
What a long black neck!

Hello folks,

Thank you for your posts,
they have been quite helpful.

BTW #2s neck looking dark is just a result of poor lighting.
