i am sorry for your loss.. my girls too are 7 months old.. mine also free range and we have 6 acres of woods.. tonight for the first time, my husband and i both work late, my girls will put themselves to bed but we can't be there to shut them in till a couple hours after dark.. i'm an internal mess.. we haven't seen any predators around our property, but i still have a deer cam going.. ah, i am sorry for you. and thinking about my own girls a little more now.. they are my babies!!!!

What we're thinking of doing is getting a run attached to the coop so we put them in there when we're gone and they free range when we're home. Sadly, there is always predators, even when we don't see them.

And I'm sure they'll be ok since they can put themselves up :)
