Mink's

OK folks just let out my chicken's none dead seen a few type's of track's around the pin some where mink track's and it seems my rock barrier system works keeping them out so I hope the mink's will give up soon knowing they can dig but are blocked out

I put nothing past a mink. They've been my worst predator by far over the years.

It's not mink's checked my trap's an hour ago found a dark brown cat in it and it's really mean has a short tail I brought the trap in the house cat got out some how and I cought it but I'm in some pain it ripped me up bad so I did some research on bobcat's and found out the bobcat has 12 sub species all wild cat's this thing was destroying up my house the cat was mean and very strong I could barely hold on to it the cat is back in the trap now wow never again I got my butt kicked by a cat so it could be what killed my bird's

Minks.. I just hate them. Recently I was raising chickens and one fine day I found that one of my chicken was missing. I first thought that it would've gone somewhere and it'll come back after some time. I waited till night but it'll didn't return. I was worried and searched for it around my garden. Then I thought of waiting till morning. I went to bed and I heard my chickens crying. I ran out to see what happened and I saw a mink dragging one of my chicken. I made a lot of noise and it let my chicken and ran away. I was really scared and worried of my chickens. Thankfully my chicken was okay. It was a bit hurt in the neck, but it was not severe. Then I understood that my chicken was killed by that little monster. I soon called pest control Toronto and the next morning they set a trap in my garden and trapped it by evening and they took it with them. Hope they'll never come back again.

Your fear of mink's ain't over they cought one but to kill chicken's it takes more then one mink's will kill the Bird's for fun and not even eat em my chicken's had there entire neck gone head was still attached to the body By the juggler most where like this a few had neck's just killed and left mink's are known to do this very easily and they are very hard to trap also

I found out there's a full body trap for mink's it Lay's flat on the ground like snares but this trap once set Snap's the mink breaking almost all it's Bone's the trap fold's the mink in half instant kill not sure if bate is required our if it's a none bate trap I'm buying a few place them a long side of the pen

You're talking about a conibear body trap. A #110 works well for mink and weasels. You could go with a #160 or # 220 also but if they close on your finger it will likely break.

Stray cats that have been around for generations grow some fearsome specimens. Years ago I took in a stray, all black cat. He was in his prime and had infestation of ears. That helped a lot in somewhat taming him as he'd allow you to scruff his head. In the first few days. I took him to a vet after a week of introduction. I let him have the bathroom and tub as sanctuary that first week. Neighbor visited and wanted to see him, told him he's not tame yet and a fine (read "large") animal. He laughed and walked into the bathroom...a loud exclamation and few choice words later he was back and rather shaken by how large the cat was. Granted he was only 13 lbs but that's not 13 lbs of adored over fed house pet. That's a 13 lbs predator that's grown from kit to killer.

Oh how he and I would have tussles. Tear my arm up when I came home form the bar and wanted to play. LOL. He'd also fight me for the bed. Literally would fight me for my own bed! I let him know I was king but if I had a lady friend over he would mark his territory while they were sleeping on it....ugh. Great cat. He came to see me and lay by me before he left that next spring. I thought he'd be back but when night came realized he had said goodbye already. Very powerful animal and no chicken would stand a chance if he was hungry.
