I found a chicken & it needs a home!

Hi, I'm so glad I found BackYard Chickens. I found a chicken last Saturday in Lakewood, CA. Put up signs around my neighborhood and no one is claiming it. I don't know what to do with it. Does anyone want it?

I'm glad you took it in. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a rooster and that's why it was dumped and no one is claiming it. You can post pictures for us and we can tell you for sure. If it is a rooster you're going to have an uphill battle finding a home for him. You might see if you have any farm sanctuaries in your area that would take him if he is indeed a cockerel.

Looks like a hen to me! A good thing, she should be easy to rehome, lots of people looking for free hens. Post her up on craigslist and I bet you'll find her a good home in no time! You can also post in the CA thread here on BYC and a member here might like to have her.
