Hi everyone,
One of our hens, Florence, has woken up today quite lethargic. She's spent a long period of time this morning drinking lots of water from our pond. This is odd for two reasons, they have a source of water in their coup, and when we came out to see her, she didn't immediately run over (which she will normally do when ever we open our back door). She didn't react to us at all when we walked over to where she was drinking, and carried on drinking. My mother believes it may be that she has eaten some "Lords and Ladies" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arum_maculatu. However, i want to check on here what you more educated people know.
Thanks in advance

My red star Ruth is doing the same thing but she drinks and eats, doesn't stay with the herd much stays by herself, kinda stumbles very clumsy. She will fluff up and sit around with her eyes closed. Sounds similar to my problem but she's been this way for like 4 months. She's real tiny and isn't showing much sign of growing, I don't feel her crop at all, I know it's there but nothing is there. It seems she eats just enough to stay alive. She's a tough little girl but I wonder if it's worms ? She's skin and bones but eats still and all that

Its fine.Welcome to BYC

Thanks for the help guys and girls. Her crop felt fine, no ill effects there. On a happy note, the Hen that was ill is now back to her normal happy self. No signs of anything wrong with her today. She might have just been clearing something out of herself. :)
