Parakeet crusty nose

My parakeet has been having this kind of whiteish crusty nose for a while now and I'm not sure why. Help please?

Im not a expert and your pictures are not zoomed in enough but it looks like a early case of scaly face mites. Do some research
unfortunately most internet sites show birds that have been neglected so scaly face is advanced but as you seem to care it looks like the early signs.

If it is scaly we would use ivermectine liquid in there water and in 3 days they should be fine. One tiny spot applied to the back of there neck can also be used but as we treat early we have never had to try this method. ivermectine is a expensive liquid because it can treat a large number of birds. As you only require 1/4 teaspoon or less you may want to call around some friends (A lot of chicken people keep ivermectine on hand). All birds will need to be treaded.
