Selling Eggs

When we got chickens last year, we got 11 hens. I didn't plan to sell the eggs, but provide them to my neighbors and close family in exchange for goods. Now I have a couple people who i've given eggs to, who expect them for free. I want to start selling them on a small scale, a couple dozen a week, though we have added another 16 chicks to our flock.

I want to put an insert inside my egg cartons, but i'm not sure how to word it... something pertaining to "thank you for your interest in our eggs, prices are ... and you can contact me ...."

Any ideas?

Maybe a small title saying"When it comes to eggs i don't yolk around"Prices,Number can be on the side.Then a title of your farm.I dont know just a suggestion.

That's pretty good! I'm going to get some blank cartons and try it out. I feel bad charging (why I'm not sure, they don't feel bad taking them!), but dang, some extra $$$ would be nice for their food

Hi, I saw the Forum, Random Ramblings ,...Selling Eggs. Because of one person,... I do not sell eggs. Some people just don't understand simple instructions on letting an incubator hatch them nor did she get letting a Broody hen do it. So, If We don't need them for eating our chickens do and it is fed back to them in their feed. I would rather smash an egg in a feed bowl
That sell or give an egg away because of one mean talking young woman.

I think OP is talking about eating eggs, not hatching eggs.

I wouldn't give up so easily just because of one person.

Oh sorry! I meant selling eggs, as in for food, not hatching! I initially supplied one person at the retirement community I work at, then it quickly spread that I had fresh eggs. So I started to give them out and while some people would give a small donation, and everyone was keeping cartons, not everyone would offer anything for the eggs. Here is what I went with (thanks @MasterOfClucker ) for the great idea! I am thinking about sticking these inside the egg cartons for a while:

“When it comes to eggs, we aren’t yolkin’ around!”

I did have one man bring me 2 cartons today with $10 in it. He is one of the ones who is making "donations" as well as keeping my egg carton supply up. I also had another man stop by my mailbox today and say "are those your chickens??" (nope- just flew into my yard ) ... Yes sir they are. He then bought 2 dozen eggs! Whoop!
