Sizzle vs Silkie

I HATE silkies. Most annoying birds ever and worthless in my opinion.

I love the Cochins but never had a sizzle. But like I said i do not like silkies but most people disagree with me

We LOVE our Silkies and Sizzles. I say get both. I do have to say, the Silkies aren't very smart, can't fly, can't see very good, and aren't very good layers. But, they are the nicest birds we have and they are so funny to watch. The sizzles are a little bit smarter, still not the best layers, still can't fly well, and aren't quite as friendly. We love the two breeds just the same though. Heres ours.

My favorite sizzle. 2 months old

Wives favorite sizzle. 2 months old

this is our only smooth sizzle hen. 5 months old

Our only frizzled silkie. 2 months old

Sizzle rooster. 5 months old

Silkie rooster

Silkie hen

And then just adding this because I also thing you would enjoy them. Our polish hen. She is crazy as mess but funny to watch. And our best egg layer

Thank you so much for the pics and the info! oh man, your Polish is great!!

We live in SW Colorado, so summers can get very warm... but not much humidity and we can get cold, snowy winters... I would need to pick between the Silkie or Sizzle. Are they about the same on the egg laying and size? A friend of mine is swaying me toward the Silkie, but those Sizzles are so darn cute!

I'm not sure what 'Cold' is down there. Up here in ND my frizzle cochins and silkies both do fine. And the warmth doesnt bother them to much

We can occasionally get into the minus numbers in the winters, but it usually isn't more than -15 and that is in a really bad year! Usually it is 0 to -3 in our typical cold snaps..
Everything we are interested in putting in our flock says cold hardy. I looked at that Polish, liked it, but not cold hardy
