Hello everbody! Maple has been acting weird for about a week now and she has stopped laying eggs completly. She is 7 months old and she had just started laying before she stopped. She layed for about 2 weeks and then she started acting really strange. She wont come out of her crate where she sleeps at night (she is a single chicken so we bought her a dog crate for her to nest/sleep), she came out a couple times for a few minutes when we left the door open an walked away but then she went right back in. She makes a weird growling dinosaur-like noise when we try to get close to her crate and puffs up all her feathers and tail like a porcupine. She doesnt try to bite me or anything if I reach in to give her food/water, even if try to pet her but I dont know whats going on and Im really worried she is sick. If anybody has seen this before please help.
