Emergency Duck!!

If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated!!
Yesterday morning when I let my ducks out there was one missing, on checking the coop I realised that my 10 month old runner cross was still in. When I lifted her she was very limp and couldn't hold her head or neck up. So I brought her in the house, warmed her up and got her some water, bathed her in Epsom salts to encourage her to drink. I automatically assumed this was a case of botulism/limber neck, although now I'm not so sure!! Since bringing her in the house she has got a little brighter and her whole body seems fine apart from her neck which is still limp and because of this she can't stand/walk. She is still so strong in her body that she is constantly trying to move and stand up which is now causing her distress. I thought if it was botulism she would be showing some signs of improvement 24 hours later? I am now at the stage where I don't know if it's fair to keep her like this? Or if I should continue and give her the chance? So thought I'd ask you lovely guys your opinion!! Any help would be appreciated so much!! Thank you.xx

I am not a duck expert as others over on the duck forum are. Botulism would cause flaccid paralysis starting in the feet, legs, then wings, and neck. If the neck is still paralyzed, the areas below that should be as well if it is botulism. But I am not a vet. If it is botulism and the duck lives for 24 hours I think there can be a chance of recovery with supportive treatment like feeding fluids and food. I would make sure that he is taking plenty of water, and add poultry vitamins with electrolytes, since he could just be dehydrated. I hope that he starts to improve soon, and I would also post on the duck forum.
