I agree with @granny hatchet Looks like a plucked boy to meFavorite spot for the hens to peck . Do you happen to have some getting ready to lay ? Give them some extra calcium and put some blu-coat on the roosters throat. That should take care of things.
Switch to a higher protein feed. Layer feed has just barely enough protein in it to sustain egg production, and some breeds need a bit more protein than others. Plus, you really shouldn't be feeding layer with a rooster in the flock. It's for actively laying birds only. He's not molting and the girls have been laying for about ten weeks (they are all the same age as Bob) so plucking could have started at that point and probably didn't become noticeable until last month...I'll try the Blue Kote...Is there anything I can do to keep them from plucking him???
Some of the girls have bald patches on heads and tails too, and I KNOW that's from mating...
Am I doomed to a flock of bald birds???

Feathers are not a significant source of calcium. They are mostly PROTEIN.The extra calcium is for the hens. Thats what they are after when they pluck him. You can try to trim roosters spurs but not much you can do for their bald heads except your rooster is young and frisky right now. He will calm down some in a couple months.
