Transitioning chicks from the brooder to the coop

They're 8 & 9weeks old. DH promised the coop would be ready 2 weeks ago, and has sworn tomorrow is that day. I told him I would regime them if it's not done tomorrow cuz they've outgrown the brooder and it's cruel to keep them like that. They're fully feathered and the low temps are 45-50 these days. High temps are 70s plus currently. I live in northern Ohio. Pics tomorrow since I've already put them to bed for the night (turned off the light).
 
Ok. No rush on the pictures. Take as much time as you need:)

If they are that old then they should probably be fine with the temps and weather. When putting them in, just either pick them up and take them out one at a time, or let them jump out of the brooder and into the coop. Hope this helps. Oh so they only need to be in the brooder inside the coop when they're younger? Will they be ok when the temps randomly drop to 43 at night and day temps only hit 60? The spring weather here has been so crazy! We insulated the whole coop to help with that.

We live in Michigan and have very similuar weather. Our chicks are about the same age. We put their brooder in the coop about 3 weeks ago. They are doing just fine with the weather at night. They cuddle up and keep warm. Now, Im trying to get them out of the brooder so they can go outside in the covered run and enjoy the day but 2 of our hens are being brats...Lol! We also insulated their coop. Sounds like you have a good coop for them. They will be fine at night.

Lol figures! Mine readily hop out of the brooder anytime I have the top off.especially at cleaning time, which is daily cuz they've overstayed they're welcome in it!
