hi guys, one of my buff orpingtons went broody the other day but i'm not sure if i should trust her with eggs yet. Yesterday she came off the dummy eggs for an hour but i dont know!!!
should i trust my broody with eggs yet!

also she is really relaxed and doesn't peck me when i go near her. (she does puff up though.) the reason why i dont know is because she is only 7 months old and is her first brood.

Personally I leave broodies until they have spent a full 48 hours (with breaks to feed etc) on a nest before giving her eggs (spending both nights on the nest is generally what i go by).

Our mama didn't really peck at us last summer when she went broody. She just went broody yesterday and is the same again. All puffed up and dazed look on her face.
