Hello everyone , I have a question concerning using sawdust to keep quail eggs upright during incubation. I have a simple tray style automatic egg turner and incubator from ebay and the trays have no slot to place eggs. The trays are very large and the eggs role back and forth. I was wondering if layering a thin layer of sawdust in the trays to keep the eggs up right would hurt?

I am not sure--how about sand? What kind of trays have you got---you got a picture??? Why you want them upright-----(edited) wait---are you saying your trays has no where to place the eggs at all???

well with incubation you want the little end of the eggs down, with the large end facing up. This helps the embryos develop better I was told.
