I've got a splash maran that is about 30 or 31 weeks old that is still not laying. It is possible that about 4 weeks ago she laid one sort of smooshy egg with a soft shell, then another a week or so later. No eggs that we can tell from her. All of the other chickens we got at the same time have that mating behavior where they scrunch to the floor and lift up their tails, but not the maran. Is it possible that she just still isn't mature yet? She does not exhibit any strange behaviors that indicate she might be egg bound. She eats lots (more than all the other chickens) and is very docile and calm.
Has anyone had similar problems or know if something might be wrong with her that I should be concerned about?
