Goats wanted in Georgia

I am in Athens Ga. Right now I have a 4m pygmy doe. In the spring some lamanchas as well as pygmy. They get cd&t and wormed. Be careful about buying from sales/auctions as it is disease/illness ridden. Some things. People can get, some aren't curable and so on. Mini Madness Farm on fb

Wow. A 4 1/2 year-old thread!
I was excited to see this thread until I looked at the dates.

I too am looking for goats in Georgia. I am not interested in meat, milk, or registered show goats. I just want a few friendly pet goats, my grand children can call there own. Since my DH can no longer ride the tractor, it would be nice to have help with all the vegetation too!

I rescued a Nannie and 2 Billy goats off the side of the road about 10 years ago. They were abandoned at a storage building and escaped the fence looking for water. They were extremely feral! No matter what we tried, we could not tame these goats. They did earn their keep eating the vegetation, but I never want to live with Billies ever again.

They would run the Nannie ragged. We tried to keep her separate, but they would bust through anything to get at her. Unfortunately, while I was in the hospital, they busted through the barn siding and killed her. I found them another home!

My 2 grand kids would love to have some goats to play with. Every time they bring it up, I make them do some research about goat care, I want to make sure.... they understand the commitment it takes to own them.

If anyone knows of any does/nannies or wethers that need a new home, please let me know. I would be willing to pay a small re-homing fee, but the prices I have seen to outright purchase is not in our budget.
