Tibetan Quail

How can you tell a Tibetan male from a Tibetan female when looking at them. The only way I can tell is by the call they make but it's time consuming and not 100% full proof... I can't find this information anywhere...

i dont know much bout them but shouldnt the males have some sort of call thats how i told my pharoahs apart that i raised and sold

i also just read the female get alot bigger too

I haven;t noticed anything on the size, I'll have to you... All of my males stick there chest out, heads up and let out a squawk.... That's the only way I can tell which are males but it's not a 100% as I put a female in with a bunch of males recently, she laid an egg.... When they do the squawk I've grabbed the males as quick as I can....
I've been hatching beautiful Yellow Coturnix Quail! It's in the genetics somewhere... I'm thinking of breeding one with a Tibetan and see what the coloring would be. I'm still pretty new to this...

Hens normally dont crow so telling by their crow is normally sucessful.

YOu can also tell the males by their vents. The males vent will be swollen and a white foam will come out of it if you just press on it lightly.

Tibetans are nothing more thana color so anything that applies to a normal coturnix applies to all other colors. Tibetans (british ranges) are very hard to sex so you have to wait until you see them crow, lay an egg, and check the vent.

again these are ALL coturnix, just like all labrador retrievers are all labrador retrievers no matter their many colors

breeding range (Tibetan) to white will give you a mix of range, white & tuxedo chicks.

You can not tell by the feathers in Tibetans to see if it is a male or female.
But you can tell by looking to see if there is a vent for an egg or not to tell the gender.

you can look for pictures to see what it looks like.

Tibetans are standard sized coturnix quail.
