Safe to feed raw and cooked Onions to Chickens? - Page 2

Onions produce disulfides when digested which are toxic to birds, potentially causing much the same problems that they do in dogs. I guess the question for those interested in further digging would be how much and how often they would have to be consumed to cause a problem.
wife to long suffering husband who has built more miles of fence, barns, coops and enclosures then one man should have to, two teenage boys, current flock of 13 assorted hens, 1 big red roo and a list of other assorted farm animals.

I have 7 chicks like 4 week's and my chicks sick kindly tell me that whick one food give chicks and onions and garlic can I give him

My chickens chased after the raw purple onions I gave them. I hope they will be ok! They loved them & gobbled them up so fast. I thought onions have a ton of health benefits.
