Good, cheap online source for hardware cloth?

Your welcome!! Good luck, and hopefully you get a great price!!
I know for me that after expanding so many times, hardware cloth was really the biggest expense.
Completely the biggest, especially for a huge chicken coop barn. I started to look on crags list and gave up my greenhouse lined with hardwire idea. Ifounf plywood for $2 per sheet and free pallets. I have foundation bricks. I'm only going to get hardwire for venting of the roof, windows (crags list) and doors (made from tallest and plywood.).. It's still expensive thought-you are right!!

We bought ours at this place but we went and picked it up at the NJ warehouse. We completely covered a 10'W x 20'L x 86"H run with it and ran a skirt down and out from the run too.
They have centers in Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, and New Jersey.
We found their prices to be way below local stores (HD, Lowe's, TSC, etc) and they were great to deal with over the phone. Huge selection too. We made sure they had what we wanted in stock and it was waiting for us when we went for pick-up.

Tu! I'm checking them out :)

Rising too quick for me... and other projects have come to the forefront (like I gotta get my grow room cranking out microgreens first, to start some cash flow from my first commercial customer/restaurant! :)

While excited about chickens, going to try and take my time and plan out a coop, run, and tractor and not rush it. Will watch mesh prices for a while until the prices are more reasonable :)
good luck on your restaurant

Which should I get:

1/2 By 1 By 24 100 Ft 16 Gauge Weld Wire

1 By 1 By 24 Inch By 100 Foot Welded Wire 14 Gauge

I would say it depends on what you think is likely to be your worst predator. The 1"x1" isn't going to stop things like smaller rats or weasels, but, the 14 gauge is stronger than the 16 gauge. So, big and strong, or small and weaker? I would say both would likely prevent normal sized dogs (not the massive breeds, they can chew through chain link...), raccoons, cats, birds of prey, possums, etc. I doubt either would stop a bear, and the larger holes won't stop small things (rodents can go through any hole that their skull will fit through)
