Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I've been using crumble from the beginning, and still do since some of our birds are still a little small for me to feel comfortable with whole grains. I will be adding scratch grains to this next batch though, I use 15% or 16% protein and UP/ACV with mother was the starter.
I feed it as their only food, other than free ranging. I only feed once a day now, but in the winter it will be two to three times a day. It will depend on how much they need.

Oh, interesting! One more question, if you don't mind. Do you take out food, and add in the amount you took out to the container, or do you continuously have to make new batches?

My first 2 eggs!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY I am sure they came from Betty as Boops comb etc is nowhere near the size/colour of Bettys, I didn't bother checking the coop yesterday as I didn't think they'd be "settled" in just yet only being here almost a month but looks like I will be checking every day now!

Betty on the left and Boop on the right

YAYAYY! The first one is so round!!

NOT my pics...

Horse WITH tail extension:

Horse WITHOUT tail extension:

They cost $80-540. Price depends on attachment type, weight (1/2lb, 1lb, 1 1/2lbs of hair), length and color.
HAHAHAHA. I think the horse without one looks just fine! And if anything the horse with it looks like it would get its tail caught on something as it walks by pretty frequently. But I do see how it adds to the 'beauty' of the animal.

I just add and cover again with water. I have had to start a new batch once, but that was because Gavin left the lid off and I didn't feel right feeding them food they'd pooped in. Although I doubt they'd have cared.
I do the "loaf" like method where you just scoop stuff from the top, only add water once or twice per feed refill and do not have total submersion the entire time. Something to keep in mind with crumble or pellets is they swell a lot more than whole grains, so be sure your container has plenty of room.

I have some peeps that are free to a good home! They are father: Mottled Blue Bantam Cochin, mother: b/b/s Ameraucana. All of these chicks are b/b/s they have beards and muffs, and feather legs. They are rather cute! They are the end result of a fence jumping! They are off the light, and ready to go into a grow-out pen. FREE!!!!!!!! I will take them to auction if I don't get anyone interested, there is maybe 10 of them, and they are hard to sex because they have pea combs :)

Might have to wait till bobby gets back as I know he'll want to meet him too!! Bobby should be back late night on the 5th if all goes to plan with work.
Seth's only home on passes for now, so other than this weekend and Gavin's birthday party (Nov, hoping to h*** he's home before then) I don't know when he'll be here. We'll figure something out, isn't that what we women do? lol
