Woke up late which means the chickens/ducks got out late. Someone are 2 duck eggs. And this was in the chicken nesting pox...what would cause blood? Should I be concerned? Not sure which leghorn it was who laid this.
Feeling like I am in the twilight zone... Yesterday the 11 year old marches up to me with a rabbit In her arms... I am perplexed...where did this rabbit come from?? Do we have visitors?-the kind that bring their rabbit with them?....uh.. NO. 11 year old explains that the rabbit is hers and she and her brother each bought rabbits at the 4H fair last week and have been hiding them in her bedroom closet. Whaaaat!? Really? They only came clean because the rabbits ran out of food.:/.
Today 15 yr old surfaces with a duckling....wait a minute, now where did THAT come from? We sold all of our ducklings.... He says 'there are 2, they just hatched'. What?? That hatch was over last week. I was very surprised that more eggs didn't hatch and now I know why...there were some Muscovys in there. GoodNESS! Never a dull moment around here, I'm telling ya!

All went well until it started meowing in the middle of the night!
That is awesome that she accepted that many!! Lucky you, what a good Broody Momma! And YES, I did smuggle more than a few kittens and even a puppy into my home when I was growing up! We were never allowed to have any pets -unacceptable, right?! But with the amount and varieties of animals we have here, I never saw the need to for my kids to smuggle anything in.Momma goldie just hatch 3 eggs yesterday was so excited to see them peeking out, so I went to get feed and rural king and they had peeps again....WELL......I bought a dozen Barred rocks and silver laced wyodottes and put them in the pen with goldie....now she;s the proud momma of 15 babies....
