I put him/her in a bin with a wire lid inside the turkey pen bc I was worried the other turkeys would pick on him, but I didn't want him to be all alone either. How often should I do the blu-kot?
I think I only did it once when Wynter got scalped. Maybe twice when the color started to fade. He went right back in with everyone else. I didn't sperate him at all. He did all have his mama but she wasn't very protective.
It's been a long time since I gave everyone an update on Wynter. He's recovered from the hole in his crop completely and targeted bask in where his chest was bald. He did lose most of his toes due to the frostbite. I think he has 1 on 1 foot and two on the other, the poor guy. He must've had that hole in his crop for longer than I thought he did. He's nowhere near the size he should be and is getting passed up in size by the 12 week olds that he's in with. His ankles are also fused in place somehow so when he walks, he looks like he's walking on stilts. Great news for him though. I've found someone to adopt him where he'll live out the rest of his life, spoiled rotten. He's going to be living with a bunch of Silkies
I'm so glad I found him a good home. It's hard enough to rehome roosters add it is, let alone a handicapped one!Edited by Auroradream26 - 5/4/15 at 6:26pm
