Does anyone need a beautiful, gentlemanly 3-month-old cockerel, carries genes for blue and brown eggs, son of the pampered rooster Adam? He is being beaten up by the hens, and must go. Should be a good protector when older.

I know nothing about Quail except for 20 years ago someone gave me feathers that I used to make Christmas orniments. I assume you can't mix them with chickens?
Dennis--THANK YOU again for my three pretty girls who are laying blue eggs EVERY DAY! They already have names and the lavender color puts any Orpington I have owned to shame!
Picture please! I bet they are gorgeous! :drool I'm waiting for Dennis's sexlink girls for next year.

I think you're too far from me unfortunately. I could use a new Ameraucana roo.... mine has become quite the jerk!

The brown on her is just dust. Her Lavender/grey is so deep and soft and utterly matte. I have some nice pictures from the farm too if Dennis doesn't mind me posting them?
She is gorgeous! Is she friendly? I had a silk feathered black Ameraucana, Candy, that was just a cuddle bug! She was shy for a couple weeks when I got her at about 12 week old, but later decided to be a lap chicken. Unfortunately, we lost her to Marek. My son just wants another ameraucana, and I ordered one from my pet chicken, but I doubt she will be very friendly as a hatchery chicken and just hope she will be "she". When Dennis has his sexlink ameraucanas, I will definitely get a few.

Since I got her as an adult, she is still a bit nervous. She will eat out of my hand cautiously. I keep telling her "I am your new Dennis!"--maybe I should put my glasses on! At Dennis's they all were as docile as guinea pigs! She hangs out with her two "sisters"--one is another lavender and the other the most fantastic oil slick/rainbow iridescent black.
A blue egg a day from each.
