hatchery oriental game breeds

Has anyone on here ever bought hatchery quality oriental gamefowl, such as shamo, saipan, malay, etc., from a hatchery? I am sure the birds were not show/breeder quality, but, what were the faults? Does anyone have any pics? I would really just like to know what exactly is wrong with these birds from the hatcheries, is it the tails being too high? That is my guess, based on pics of hatchery dark cornish. I have bought plenty of more typical birds from hatchery stock, and , while not amazing show birds, they were not terribly wrong either, very minor cosmetic details wrong generally.

if u wunt good oriental for show u have to buy from a farm that breeds good brood fowl $$$$$$ u know wut i mean gallero !
 
Orientals from hatcheries typically do not look like the breed, too small, too large, "deformed" almost to look nothing like the original birds. And then you have that some of them may have high tails, and they wouldn't be game. Gameness doesn't matter to some, but if they aren't game then it indicates a cross most likely or horrible breeding. I say horrible though because i try to keep the gameness intact... If they don't have it why call them a game?

PS. That's not to say they're all like that, i mean you may get a few that are "ok" and maybe even great. But they generally will not be. The Madagascar games from Ideal have most likely been crossed with Turkens due to a few reasons.. Increased egg laying capabilities and non-gameness for two examples.

Thanks for the input so far. I have heard good things about Superior farms, and bad things about Ideal before. I guess I was wondering mostly if anyone has actually had them, and knew for sure. Example, I have hatchery barred rocks, for eggs. They are great layers, with nice personality, and basically look like barred rocks. Out of 30, I don't think any could win a show..mostly bad combs and poor color, but, for my uses, they are fine. I think what I'm hearing is that the gamefowl are worse than barred rocks if you buy them at a hatchery, or, can some show rock breeder chime in and explain why all the hatchery layer birds are no good, etc. Anybody with hatchery game breed pics, would be awesome.

They breed so they can sell a lot of chicks, not for quality. The Old english from them are heavily in dutch, the dutch is crossed with OE. A lot of kraienkoppes have been crossed with leghorns, Rhode island reds from them are just production reds which are pretty much Rhode Island Red crosses.. Those are just a few of the breeds..

So something that's pretty rare as Oriental gamefowl and other breeds, especially ones that are poor layers (like the Orientals) you couldn't expect to get good examples really.


ETA: Superior farms is supposed to be good. As they breed for quality, but can't say on personal experience. Rod could tell you about them though..

thers more farms tnat breed real orientals thers new inprof breeds gamenes is ther blood if u have gamnes 100% it means that u have topblood lines if ur orientals are not gamenes it means thers someting wrong maybe ther cornish ! for show u have to have the real thing ! just like you have hens for eggs or meat the orientals are game
 
Gameness in show lines has mostly been bred out. Especially in the Malay. I prefer the lacking of gameness as I like my males being able to coexist together. I do not have Malay yet, but would eventually like to get some. I will be getting some that lack the game, simply because I don't want a massacre going on.
 
Man I'd love to get some good saipans. I thought about ordering a large amout from ideal and then keeping only the best of the bunch and breeding them. I've had good luck from Ideal so I thought they would be the best bet as far as hatchery birds.
