Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

So give me your best guess.... how the off spring may come out using the blue roo?
I'm safe to assume that I should not look at this like I look at breeding and the genetics of my Blue and Blue Copper Marans, RIGHT?

If this is the only one to turn out like this from blue parents, some mixed genes are in there, but most of them seem to be adding up.
If you use a blue roo you will get blue, black, and splash probably mostly solid leaking red/brown on some feathers and solid blue and black..but that's just a guess.
Again, and I know you would..I would just tell people that even if they look visual blue or black the chance exits that their own chicks could come out looking mixed down the way.
Now you will just have to do it and let us know!

Thanks CottageGarden! If I breed her it will only be for my personal use to see if I could get some more babies that look like her exclusively for my laying flock. I just love her coloring even if she is an EE! Thanks again everyone!

Flyingmonkeypoop asked this question on the closed "New varieties of Ameraucana" thread, so I thought I'd reply here instead.

So just wondering, other than the colors that have been posted here, is anyone working on black breasted red ameraucanas or any other cool varieties?

I'm working on a BBR Ameraucana, in order to get a better foundation for my Red Pyle project birds.

I have a couple of BBR pullets, but no males yet. Here are 2 older chick pictures of them....no updated photos because I STILL can't find my camera battery charger!

...but I also have a really sweet looking BLUE breasted red girl in my spare bathroom, about a month old, that is a doll. Perfect leg color and pattern, but I can't take her picture either until I find that charger.

Nice pics of your non-standard color Ameraucana project birds.

Here's a few of a bunch of my girls from tonight. I just thought it was cute! I'm noticing some pedicures are in order... And there is always one girl who has to go against the grain

And here is my new LF Lavender boy, I am very thrilled with him! He is in his quarantine crate (just got him last weekend) but he was posing so nicely!
