That will probably help a lot that they are chicks. Growing up together usually makes them kinder to each other :) Yes, I will get a nice big board like that, thanks for the suggestion. I had a 2x2 which I thought was enough since they were bantams, and then was thinking of doing a 2X4 but I believe you're right and a 2X6 would be best for their cute little feetsies, I have this thing for chicken feet, LOL, I love them. I love when they curl their toes around my thumb when I press in the center of their foot, they're so CUTE! I am probably the only person in the world who loves chicken feet (not to eat, LOL)

I didn't know that about Queen Victoria! Sweet! Gosh I'm envious, I'd love to have a lot of room for my birds! I did the best I could, but I live in the city :( and though I have a good size back yard for around here, it still isn't that big!

Yea, but you have Bantams so you actually have twice the room! how many do you have?

Charlie has a harem of 8. I will be eating their eggs, LOL. Even so they're not supposed to lay many. They're really pretty, I adore them! Right now they're stuck in their coop (for at least a week to get homed in on it) but also because I still need to make their run. The coop is 6 X 4 so 24 square feet, or 4 sq feet per bird. Charlie can't spend the night with them as he makes too much noise

He comes back in the house at night.

awwww that is so cute that you make special provisions for him. what a good chicken Momma.

I picked up my Sultan yesterday from Meyers. gee, thanks to YOU I asked for a second if they had it and they did. So now I have 7 new chicks instead of 6. lol

The one is a happy go lucky girl, up and at them. The second seems a little slower. She seems to have balancing issues a little, and i am watching her legs CLOSELY. It seems to me like they are planted out a little farther apart than I wouldlike. Not splayed, but a wide stance. It also seems like she has a little harder time standing up. I hope she's ok. They were just born that morning, and I picked them up at 11, so I am hoping it's just a new born issue and will clear itself up. They are all eating and drinking fine.

I named the two Sultans Victoria and Elizabeth.

Yaaay, Congratulations, fishnet1971!

I'm afraid the fermented feed I gave my birds this morning was too wet, and know the next time I go out there, all my girls will be filthy again, LOL (except Charlie, don't know how he stays so clean!)

Victoria

Elizabeth

Elizabeth in front, Victoria in back.

Victoria up and down.

I named Victoria after Queen Victoria. She has a special love for the White Sultan and supposidly had a ton of them as pets. I named Elizabeth after Elizabeth Watt who is accredited to bringing the first Sultans over to the US in 1854! (or so I read)
