Now I'm stuck looking at cabinets, mom said the suro 20 is too small,
The Ova Easy seems a bit pricey to me but looks promising, anyone here own one,
if you do mind me asking: Are they accurate, reliable and well built? Any downsides to it?

Since it would be at my house (mom is off grid) I want it to be something digital.
The other so far was the sportsman 1502, but I kind of like that humidity pump
for the brinseas, the one on the Suro has been very reliable. Anything else you recommend?
Thanks for putting up with my questions,
Bel

We have a suro 20, its super stable and very well built but its max is 24 eggs so its too small, I wish they made a suro 100 or bigger.

I have the Ova Easy 190 and wouldn't trade it for any other cabinet model. I have owned many others but got my Ova Easy about 4 years ago and have never regretted it. They are very accurate, holds an even temp pretty much throughout the whole incubator, very reliable the only trouble I have ever had out of mine was the turning motor died in mine the last batch of eggs I set last year but one thing you've got to understand my incubator was rarely ever turned off since the day I got it and I mean that literally it almost continually had eggs in it and I mean full of eggs not just a few. And the turner motor wasn't expensive to replace either I think $49.99 and that included shipping. They are well built when I first got mine in I didn't think I would like it because the sides where what I thought where mere styrofoam but they are some type of foam with a hard board or plastic like surface on them and have never given me any problems. As for downsides I can't think of any problems i've had with mine but I have heard of a few others who have complained that when theirs turned the eggs there was a clunking noise that their turning mechanism made but again no problems with mine doing that. There are adjustments on the turning rod I guess I just got lucky when I put mine together and got it just right so mine doesn't make the racket.

If you have any other questions that I haven't answered just ask and I will try my best to answer them.

I don't have the Brinsea OvaEasy model, but the instruction manual for the model I do have states that the turning gears can be oiled with WD-40 to eliminate any noise that may develop. Maybe the same can be done for the cabinet models?

In any case, Brinsea makes a consistently fine quality product with excellent customer support and a full two year guarantee. I don't think you can go wrong by making an educated choice of any of the models Brinsea has to offer.

jmhappycowboy, thanks for your info its a huge help especially since yours has been running so long.
It sounds like the Ova Easy is the way to go, especially since you were able to buy parts for the repair.

Do you use a humidity pump? The suro has one and I love it but not sure how well they work for a
bigger unit.

Your most welcome for the input. No I don't use the humidity pump. I did consider purchasing it but after running the incubator through a couple of batches and never having any humidity issues I didn't think I needed it and I have found that I haven't of course I may live in a more humid area than you do.

Its humid now from the rains, but summer is pretty dry so it might be worth it.
Mind if I ask what kind of egg trays you use?
Thanks so much,
bel
