The khaki-Campbell duck Thread !!!!!!!!

I don't thing leg color means anything. I do believe leg color comes genetically from the black Indian Runner or the Rouen. I have mixes that have black + white feet, and some with black feet, so my guess is the black is dominant.

In just two short weeks! You guys weren't kidding when you said how fast they grew! LOL

Hey KC Threaders! I have two KC hens and they have finished feathering with no baby down a few weeks ago. They're about 12 weeks now. But they have started losing breast feathers and seem lighter than before. There is still this fluffy down like feathering under the outer ones being lost. it's this normal?

Yep! Sure is! I have a female Khaki too and she is going on 10 weeks this coming Monday and is doing the exact same thing. They go through a few more molts before "adults". She was still really dark but is now lightening out on her chest a lot and her back feathers are slowly going again as well. When I pick her up to pet her she ruffles and little feathers start flying all over the place.

Thought I would add some photos of my 5 Khaki ducklings. They will be a month old this coming Wednesday. One has a little tuft on its head so I guess it will be crested which I'm not thrilled about but I'll see how it turns out.
