Is there a general age when silkies crow (if they are going to)

my white silkie crowed at 10 weeks but I have others that are the same age as him that I think are roos and I have not heard anything from these chicks yet and they are now about 12 weeks.

I have an 8 week old silkie that I "THINK" tried to crow for the 1st time today! It came out as more of a squawk or death squeal, but it was super funny! I looked to see who it was, hoping it wasn't my chick who I am still hoping is a girl, thank goodness it wasn't!

We purchased our silkies at the Poultry Congress 2 weeks ago. Two definitely have the more rounded puff ball heads. But Silkie Way, has a spiked punk rocker head and started to crow yesterday. The person we bought him from said that he was 3 weeks when we purchased him which would make him 5 weeks old now. I researched pictures and his body development is definitely not as far along as 4-6 months which is what I have read on this thread might be expected. When he crows he puffs out his body and makes a big presentation.

Ours started at 5mo and a week or so. He just did it one day, lol. He sounds like a goose being strangled though.....

I have a silkie pair that ended up being the ONLY two to survive predators out of a full dozen hatching eggs that I purchased. They hatched around June 1st. The male just started to crow last month, but the female STILL hasn't given me a single egg. Right now she is probably adjusting to new surroundings, since I moved her to a different pen. But I still wish she would hurry up and lay some eggs. I have people wanting silkie chicks, already!

My white silkie, Pearl, now known as Mr Pearl, started crowing this week. He is 11weeks old. I only got 2 silkies and I think both are Roos. : (
