Are Eggs Safe after sitting out in the heat all day?

Just wondering how long eggs can sit out in the heat and still be safe to eat? What is I find one that has been sitting a few days?

Eggs are quite safe to eat if not collected each day.
The thing to watch for is, if the shell is cracked - that would be dubious and I would give it to the dog.
There's always the "water" test if you find a few and not sure how long they've been around.

The water test: Submerge questionable egg in water. If it sinks it's good. If it floats get rid of it.

(not unlike the Salem witch tests)

Placing the egg in a glass filled with water. If it floats its bad. If its half way, its edible, but not ultra fresh. If it sinks its quite new.
