Seeking Quality Hatchery In Northwest

The hatchery I used last time I had chickens has gone out of business and a friend who bought chicks from the local feed store last year was terribly disappointed in the quality. I thought about using one of those recommended on this forum but they were too far away from me In North Idaho.
Does anyone have experience with Lazy 54 Farms in Oregon (formerly Shanks Hatchery) or have a hatchery to recommend in my area?

Hi! I have purchased white leghorns and cornish x meat birds from Lazy 54. We were happy with the birds. My husband picked them up, he said the place looked like a bit of a dive, I don't know. There is also another hatchery in Canby called Far West Hatchery. I met the owner at the State Fair this year. He seemed super knowledgeable and they have a large number of breeds for sale. I will try them if I decide to order hatchery birds but I am leaning towards specific breeders as I am raising some rarer type breeds and want birds true to the breed standard not mass production birds. Still just learning about all this!
 
I'm a couple of hours east of Lewiston ID. We used to get chicks from Finney's in Walla Walla but someone said they had closed down.
I just checked out the website for Far West in Canby OR and they look good. It would be great though if there were a hatchery within
a driveable distance.
 
cool thanks. yea i tried looking up pine pride but had no luck.

i've seen some posts in the breeds section from quail valley so i may have to search by going that route. i'm really looking for some hardy breeds to work into a dual purpose that will perform at my 8,000 ft, high-dessert climate.

I can tell that he doesn't ship yet, but that he does drive over and make deliveries in Oregon. Where on earth are you at 8,000 feet???
personally I would suggest hatching your own as birds hatched at such drasticly different elevations are rumored to have difficulties.
