Leghorn x White Jersey Giants

I have a light brahma roo, and bred him with white leghorns. I got lots of white chicks, and some with black speckles. The leghorns already lay extremely large eggs, and we have noticed whenever we change feed, eggs get smaller and some even stop laying. So i dont believe a brahma will tear up leghorns. And he is double their size. Also, i have come to realize that the baby is as big as the egg. So we had very large chicks. But all the other chicks seem to have caught up in size within 4 weeks. The other thing I love is that this mix was the calmest bunch of all the chicks. All the other chicks were skittish and went nuts when you picked them up. The brahma/leghorns loves to be cuddled and held. I also got one black jersey giant egg that bred with the brahma. It came out black, but now that the feathers are coming in, they are laced with white. Im very excited to see how that one turns out.

You still around? If so, did you get any of these babies, and do you have any pictures?

I hope the offspring of that mix get the personality of the Jersey Giant and not the Leghorn...haha. Could end up with a Giant mean chicken. I have Black Jersey Giants and they are absolutely wonderful, very docile and good layers. I would love to have white ones.

I had a flock if the Black Giants also. One rooster tried to jump me only once. When I got through with him decided he he didn't want anymore. I had to let them go they were too big eaters. My cousin took a hen and a rooster and one cockerel chick and raised it up.

I then went here about three or four weeks ago to borrow a rooster and got the cockerel and he is now with some of my EE's and part (green egg layers) EE hens.
