[Our Golden Cuckoo Marans have been carefully bred and raised here for several years. We currently have quality roosters over some very nice hens. The chicks are sex linked and can be sorted at hatch. We do see occasional Silver Cuckoo in our hatches and they are very beautiful.. These are quiet and gentle, not lfighty like some Marans. They have clean legs which we prefer. Eggs are not as dark as Black Copper Marans but are respectable.

Hatch rates have been very good here on the farm. We ship only fresh fertile eggs and many BYCers have hatched from us with great success. You can learn more about us and our chickens at www.nonesuchfarm.net or for more eye candy visit our photobucket here:

How heavy are they? I am interested in breeding Bantam GC Marans. I have 3 Bantam chicks right now.... I'm thinking that if I hatched LF in 4 weeks they will be the same size as my bantams then.

do you know how much your weigh?

Thank you for the compliments!

I do not think that these birds will lend themselves to being bred to bantam without a considerable amount of work... they are first and foremost a meat bird.

I am TPIP certified... that is Texas brand of state sanctioned Typhoid and Pollurm tested. We also submit to some extra testing for flock health each year as I sell organic table eggs.

I wrap my egg individually in bubble wrap then news paper and pack with larger bubbles... our eggs get where they are going and they hatch.... it's been working for us for 7 years. I tried some other methods last year (box in a box, egg carton, etc.) and had cracked eggs. Ugggh!

Thanks- If I win, would you be willing to secure the eggs together so they don't bang around in there and remain fat-side up? Perhaps your method does that, but I'm always happier when they are together point-end down.

I'm not sure if it's my PO or what...

Thanks!

I have received eggs from Melissa before. She does a fantastic job of packing!
