how do ducks show they love you?

My peking drake-hedwig. Recently started walking over to me and nibbling my arms hands face- whatever he can reach. I get to scratch his head and give him lots of pets which I feel honored. The nibbling confuses me- is this a term of endearment or a dominance thing or something else completely?
I noticed he was really cuddly after my mallard disappeared -if you read my other post- he would even crawl in me lap like a nice soft duck hug (or so I thought)
Hell also run after me when I go back in the house- which makes me laugh cause those little slappy feet on the tile are soo cute!!

That duck must really love you. My ducks won't come near people unless they bait them in with treats and then they just take the treat and leave. I always thought that a sign of a duck loving me was that they pooped in my yard. Now my geese on the other hand behave just like your duck. They come up to me and nibble on everything and will even sit on a lap if available.

My two Runner Ducks are similar. When I come out into the back yard they run up to me and the just stand in front of me quacking and chattering. They greet the dogs the same way if we leave for a while and take the dogs with us. Sometimes Cocoa the female will act as though she wants to get close. If the dogs aren't around, I can squat down and she will come and nibble on my hands and rings. It's about the only time I can touch her and it's just on the under part of her beak. Jade my male use to do the same but he won't since I cornered him to pick him up one day. He will eat food out of my hand but only after Cocoa does it first.

If I go into the house sometimes Cocoa will run to the slider door quacking really loud until I come back out. I have noticed as well sometimes when I am just sitting in the yard, they stick close to where I am. If they get to far away they will run back quickly as if they were spooked.

This morning I found them sitting on top of the hot tub with the dogs. They seem to like it up there probably because it's warm in the mornings.

Omg that is so cute! Since I've posted this hedwig climbs in my lap to get better cuddles- he's to big to really fit plus I'm pregnant so my lap is getting smaller. but its so darn cute I let him climb all over me trying to find a comfy spot! I've been cornering the other -rouen- duck and forcing her to be pet she's been getting closer since so I think shell eventually be a cuddle duck to!

Shoot, my runners do nothing but chatter and run all day long. They run from me all the time. I don't think they sleep I think they take short naps. They are happy here though since they are still here. Funny buggers they are. That goes for my geese and pekins too. I guess they love me since they are still here.

I was excited to see the results of this question. My little unexpected baby gives me kisses all the time. Charlie gets to spend time after her/his bath on a towel on top of me. It runs around and nibbles on me and runs and nibbles. Very cute and endearing behavior
