Hi All,

I used to be a member here....I swapped chooks with PurpleChicken....this question is off topic chicken-wise but I don't know where else to turn....

I have blueberry plants and I would like to cover them with tobacco cloth rather than that cheap nylon netting that's sold at most garden supplyhouses. I got this idea from an old couple who's house I used to drive by that used this method. I stopped one day when I saw them outside and asked where they got their tobacco cloth. They told me that they actually went to the north part of CT...Windsor I believe, and bought some from farms where they actually still grow alot of tobacco for cigar wrappers. I'm trying to avoid having to do this. I figure the tobacco farms must buy the stuff from somewhere.....but I can't seem to find anything even using the almighty Google !!!

I figure most folks here garden as well as keep chickens so please point me in the right direction if you know !

I tried to find tobacco canvas too, this spring, without any luck. I ended up with "spunbonded garden fabric" I bought online from Hyllsyde Acres. We are using it for a seedbed cover and it has held up great thru some terrible storms. If you can't find what you are looking for, you may give it a try. I actually found the seller on ebay first.
